The Role of AVID Tutors

Tutors are essential to the success of the AVID elective class, where they facilitate student access to rigorous curriculum. AVID students who continue their education in college often return to the program as tutors.

If you are an AVID Tutor and have been asked by your supervising AVID teacher to create an account for the AVID Tutor Training Online, please complete the Form below.

This online training course is designed to assist in training AVID tutors to facilitate rigorous, collaborative tutorials. As an AVID tutor, you are required to receive 16 hours of AVID tutor training. Although there are more than 16 hours of training activities in this online course, the majority of your training should take place in the AVID classroom. This online training resource should only be used to supplement the training you are receiving in a face-to-face format in an AVID class.
